Unfortunately, as with other things, like Louis Vuitton and Coach, there are good knock-offs and bad. Wigs and hair wefts are no different. I found this web site that offered photographs along with a description of the different types of human hair being used on full lace wigs.
No sense in buying something cheap that will shed all over your house and have the transparent cap showing within weeks, right? Well, check out the site and review the descriptions below. You'll spend more on Malaysian hair but it's definitely worth the money as it is thicker than Indian Remy.
I couldn't get a take on the difference between Indian Remy and Chinese Remy so I'm taking a quote from "junior member" on the Black Hair Media forum:
"Let's talk facts.
Remi or remy is hair that has not been stripped of its outer cuticle layer. Hair from ANY source can be remy.
A cross section of Chinese hair is round, but Indian hair (as well as Caucasian and African) hair is oval. This is why the Chinese hair is coarser and more difficult to style. Chinese hair is also much thicker than other hair types. So Chinese remy is the thickest hair available because it has the widest diameter to start with and the outer layer has not been removed. On the positive side, if the hair needs to be highly processed, chinese hair is stronger and holds up longer.
And finally, I have done business with Chinese people in China as well as the U.S. They have a different culture, but my experience has been that the people I have gotten to know are family-oriented, respectful and place a lot of value on personal relationships. "
Synthetic, while less pricey, also offers a wider variety of styles to choose from, but it mattes up easier and I hear it can cause hair breakage if you wearing really cheap synthetic wigs. Buyer beware.
Let's face it, ladies, when it comes to your hair why take chances and order the cheapest? Besides, when you think about it, all the money you spend on synthetic pieces all throughout the year, in the end you could have bought a $400 human hair full lace wig and come out much cheaper in the long run.

Question - Which is better, French or Swiss lace?
Answer - It really is a matter of preference.
Swiss lace is finer, and more fragile, than French lace, and blends better with the skin for a less visible appearance.
French lace is slightly thicker and more durable.
We generally recommend that first time buyers go with French lace if you can because they are inexperienced at wig application and removal and are more likely to damage a wig cap made of Swiss lace. With experience applying and removing wigs, you may feel more comfortable with Swiss lace. Both laces can be tinted different shades of brown to blend with a variety of complexions.
As a general rule of thumb, however, Swiss lace is less visible than French lace.
