Celeb Afro Latinos/Latinas

The Black Urban Times

The pre- video below had a few errors about what celebs were afro latino.

Alfonso Ribiero is not Dominicano. He is Trini and Black.

Giancarlo Esposito was born Giancarlo Giuseppe Alessandro Esposito and is, in fact, Italian and Black. He was born in Copenhagen and raised Dane until the family moved to the U.S. His father is a Neapolitan from Naples, Itlay and his mother was a Black opera singer from Alabama who once shared the same bill as Josephine Baker!

Rita Marley, the widow of the late, great Robert Nesta "Bob" Marley, was born Alpharita Constantia Anderson in Santiago de Cuba.

The legendary Sammy Davis Jr was born in New York City to Cuban American mother, Elvera Sanchez.

Singer Maxwell is Puerto Rican and Haitian. His dad is from Vieques, Puerto Rico and his mom is from Haiti.

Tatyanna Ali is Panamanian and Trini/East Indian and her features reflect such.

Fantasia Barrino's biological father is Cuban American and her mom is Black.

Lisa Lefteye Lopes is said to have been Hispanic but I cannot verify this. Some say she was Cape Verdean (African) and Portugese. I'm betting on Cape Verdean or West Indian and Puerto Rican though. Click here to see Lisa in different fotos. She has the features a West Indian Boricua if you ask me.

Actress Merecedes Ruehl is Cubana and German and Irish. Interestingly, her Abuelito immigrated from Zalto, Spain.

NBA star Gilbert Arenas is Cubano and black. His father is Cuban.

NBA'er Carmelo Anthony is Puerto Rican and Black.
