A
Waffle House employee thought it would be funny to pull an April's Fool
prank on her local police. Unfortunately, officers with the Hampton,
Virginia police department did not agree.
On
April 1, 2013 at approximately 6:00 a.m., Susan Tinker telephoned
police to report a robbery at the restaurant. Officers arrived on scene
and investigated the purported crime for at least an hour before they
became suspicious and realized they had been punked ---minus the camera
crew and shows host.
Tinker
was arrested and charged with falsely summoning police. If convicted,
the 20-year-old prankster faces a $25,000 fine and/or one year in
prison.
When
contacted for a quote or to speak with Tinker, a person identifying
themselves as the Acting manager of the Waffle House said Tinker was no longer employed at the restaurant.
