In whispered responses, former WABC Channel 7 weather forecaster, Heidi Jones pleaded guilty in a Lower Manhattan courtroom to two misdemeanor counts of filing a false police report last year.

The 38-year-old meteorologist agreed to the plea deal, which called for her to perform 350 hours of community service and three years probation, for telling police a Hispanic man tried to rape her as she jogged in Central Park on September 24, 2010. The weather girl, who filled in periodically on "Good Morning America" cracked and copped to lying about the incident after investigators confronted her with discrepancies in her story.

A district court judge will sentence Jones on Oct. 26.  Her attorney, Paul Callan spoke on Jones' behalf during the Wednesday hearing saying she accepted personal responsibility for her actions and apologized for the inconvenience that was caused to the "New York City Police Department or to any law enforcement officials in connection to this incident."
