Will, Jada Squash 'Split' Scuttlebutt
The rumor mill kicked into high gear Tuesday with a report seen on sites such as Blackplanet.com and In Touch Weekly that mega-star actor Will Smith and actress wife Jada Pinkett Smith were calling it quits.
The Hollywood power couple issued a joint statement through their publicist that read, "Although we are reluctant to respond to these types of press reports, the rumors circulating about our relationship are completely false."
The reports alleged that a recent episode of Pinkett-Smith's TNT drama "HawthoRNe," may have sparked the break-up after the Baltimore native and Boricua singer Marc Anthony engaged in a steamy love scene. Pinkett-Smith's "bonus" son, Trey Smith, called the rumor "false" via Twitter saying, No they did NOT split! False information."
The dynamic couple met in 1990 when Pinkett-Smith auditioned for a role on "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air." Citing Pinkett-Smith's lack of height, producers passed on assigning her the role, but she got the man and the two tied the knot in 1997 at beautiful New Year's Eve ceremony.
The couple has said divorce is not an option in their 13-year marriage, and added that an active and healthy sex life has kept their union fresh and exciting.
"I think that's the problem with L.A. There are so many options. So a huge part of the success for Jada and I is that we just removed the other options," said Smith who has two children with his wife, Jaden and Willow.
