Voted "Top Blog" of 2010, "Wife (widow) of a Wounded Marine," takes you on an everyday journey of the widow of a Marine injured while serving in Iraq.
In April 2006, Karie, a young military wife in her 20's, received a call no military wife wants to get. Her husband had been injured by an IED while serving in Iraq.
For four years following her warriors injury, Karie fought for her marriage and sanity through PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury), an addiction to prescription medication, a miscarriage, and amputation.
Less than a year ago, Karie's husband killed himself when he accidentally overdosed on his pain medication.
"I have guilt. And I hurt. And I'm doing my best to work through it. This blog is my sanity. It's my safe place. And sometimes it's the only place I feel comfortable showing my true, raw emotion. Ultimately, this is my journey to finding my place in the world and finding happiness," said Karie.
Subscribe to her blog and find out how she has struggled to maintain her sanity during one of the most trying times of her young life. This blog is amazing and leaves you with a true sense of what military wives endure before, during and after their husband's serve in a war zone.
